Ginquila Mixed Berry Cocktail

We had a nice summer pasta and wanted something light but a detour from a regular margarita. We had limes, mixed berry seltzer and thought of a margarita type drink without the sugar.
2 cocktails
2 limes
1 small bottle of mixed berry seltzer
2 oz Hendricks Gin
4 oz Tres Agaves Tequila
It’s not sweet so if you prefer more sweetness add agave syrup or simple syrup.

Summer Porch Cocktail
For dinner we were making a sandwich that had whiskey peach jam so I decided to make a cocktail incorporating peaches. It’s summer on a porch that isn’t so friggin hot….peachy, herbal, fizzy.

Two cocktails:
6 oz of Gin
1 peach (pitted and sliced)
2 limes
2 sprigs of rosemary
Simple syrup or sugar (to taste)
Seltzer
Juice the limes and add to glass with peach slices and rosemary. Muddle and then add your Gin and simple syrup. Give it a good shake until combined and top with seltzer and ice.

Gin Up Cocktail
Sometimes it’s gin. Refreshing drink that is basically a Tom Collins but instead of lemons, I used limes.
3 oz of Bombay Sapphire Gin
1 lime juiced
Simple syrup to taste
little pinch of Kosher salt
topped with lemon-lime seltzer

Tequila Sangria Zinger Cocktail

Bobby Flay made a similar cocktail that looked good and refreshing. He used hibiscus zinger tea but I went with Celestial’s Mixed Berry Zinger. This was fantastic due to all the fresh fruit paired with the tea and tequila. It wasn’t overly sweet and drinks like a lightly sweetened tea or margarita.
4 cocktails:
10 oz of blanco tequila
2 oz orange liquor
2 cups of Herbal tea
1 orange
1 lime
1 lemon
Fresh pineapple
Fresh mint
Lemon lime soda or seltzer
Take your lime, lemon and orange and slice a few slices and put them in a pitcher. Juice the remaining into the same pitcher. Make a batch of tea using 2 cups of boiling water and two tea bags. Steep for 6 mins or until the desired intensity. Ice the tea to cool it down and slightly dilute. Add your tequila and stir in the pitcher mashing up your fruit. We were going to top with seltzer but didn’t have room so we went plain.
Definitely made our rotation and I will experiment with different teas and liquors. Enjoy responsibly.
